August 29, 2025: 1828 received a violation warning letter. “Patio furniture may not be stored on the porch. Please relocate to patio or balcony.”
September 30, 2025: The co-owner disputed the violation and a hearing was conducted.
- The co-owner sited bylaws:
- Section 6 Aesthetics. “No unsightly condition shall be maintained on any patio, porch or deck and only FURNITURE and other equipment consistent with the normal and reasonable use of such areas shall be permitted to remain during seasons when such areas are reasonably in use.
- The co-owner provided photos of 3 similar porches with furniture
- The co-owner stated they were being targeted and harassed by the board
- Board president Pericles Chung was screaming and yelling at the co-owner in the hearing.
- The co-owner requested an interpretation from the attorney to advise
October 6, 2025: 1828 received a 2nd violation letter
November 12, 2025: Several other co-owners still have chairs on their porches, indicating they were never fined and forced to remove them.
